Description
Crispy, flavorful salmon bites coated in a light batter and tossed in a sweet and spicy bang bang sauce. Perfect as an appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
1 lb salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized chunks
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 large egg
1/2 cup cold water
Vegetable oil for frying
For the bang bang sauce:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
1–2 tsp sriracha
1 tsp honey (optional)
1 tsp lime juice
Instructions
1. Whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
2. Beat egg with cold water in a separate bowl and combine with dry ingredients to form batter.
3. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet.
4. Dip salmon pieces in batter and fry in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
5. Drain on paper towels.
6. Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice for the bang bang sauce.
7. Toss crispy salmon bites in the sauce until coated.
8. Serve immediately, garnish with green onions or cilantro if desired.
Notes
Use fresh salmon for best results.
Keep batter cold for extra crispiness.
Fry in small batches to keep oil temperature stable.
Adjust sriracha to control spiciness.
