Description
Crispy Rice Salmon is a sushi-inspired appetizer featuring crunchy pan-fried rice cakes topped with spicy, flavorful salmon. Perfect for entertaining or a light meal.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked sushi rice
1 tbsp rice vinegar
½ tsp sugar
Pinch of salt
Neutral oil for frying
6 oz sushi-grade salmon, finely diced
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp sriracha
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp minced green onion
Sliced jalapeños (for garnish)
Avocado slices (optional)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Mix warm cooked rice with vinegar, sugar, and salt. Press into a dish and chill for 1 hour.
2. Cut rice into bite-sized pieces and fry in oil until golden brown on both sides.
3. In a bowl, mix diced salmon with mayo, sriracha, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onion. Chill.
4. Top crispy rice with salmon mixture, avocado, jalapeños, and sesame seeds.
5. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
Notes
Use sushi-grade salmon for safety when serving raw.
Substitute with tuna or tofu for variation.
Crispy rice and salmon mixture can be prepped ahead, but assemble just before serving.
